Eribonyxkarjik is a deceiver: he enjoys writing false diaries, making misleading annotations in maps, and generally delivering false information by various means. He likes to misguide those trapped in Carceri into believing that they have found a way to escape, a hidden refuge, or an unclaimed treasure, when they actually are heading to a deeper part of the plane, the lair of terrible monster, or into a trap for the greedy, respectively. While the suffering he brings with these deceptions pleases him somewhat, what he really enjoys is the feeling of superiority he gets when he manages to trick someone.
Eribonyxkarjik learnt his first lessons of forgery when he was young, from a captured "filth imp" (Fiend folio) from whom he also learnt many languages. After learning everything the filth imp could teach him about the topics that interested him, Eribonyxkarjik freed him... but of course, the imp is still trapped in Carceri.
To facilitate many deceptions, he decided to learn how to write. He had a lot of difficulties at first, but currently his handwriting is surprisingly good for someone without hands.
He always wears a skin of the chameleon (XPH) (the benefits are included in the statblock), which is the most valuable piece of his hoard.
Eribonyxkarjik's lair is located in Colothys, but he frequently travels to other layers by means of secret natural portals.
