The nali is a humanoid warrior demon which wields melee weapons in combat.

In the original Dark Matter setting, there were three demons listed in the xenoforms chapter. Two were "lower CR" and were available for summoning. The Diabolist class in D20 Dark Matter is capable of summoning demons, but the ability is basically useless without backup.

The Nali didn't have any associated flavor text, unfortunately.

Combat

The Nali is a warrior demon, and prefers to fight close up with its spear. However, it can fall back to the use of hellfire if necessary.

Hellfire: As an attack action, a Nali can blast a single target within 60 feet with hellfire. The victim suffers 3d6+1 damage (Reflex save DC 13 half). Using this ability inflicts one point of damage on the Nali and cannot be recovered through Treat Injury (only natural or magical healing). The save DC is Hit Dice and Charisma-based, and is otherwise as described on page 31 of the d20 Dark Matter supplement.

Rend the Weave (Sp): Three times per day, a Nali can cast dispel magic. This ability can also counter the magical abilities of Dark Matter specific spellcasting classes (eg Alchemist, Diabolist, and Visionary). The check DC in such cases is 15 + class level of the effect being dispelled (the Nali gains a +5 bonus to their check). For all other purposes, treat this ability as dispel magic cast by a 5th-level Mage.

Summon Fiend (Sp): By taking a full-round action, a Nali can summon a fiend for five minutes, but cannot maintain more than two fiends at any given time. Most Nalis will only summon Yrglings. Treat this ability as a 3rd-level spell-like ability. Note that a Nali summoned by the Summon Fiend ability of a Diabolist cannot summon other fiends, but if brought to this plane with the Call Fiendish Servant ability it can summon fiends. These abilities are described on page 31 of the d20 Dark Matter supplement.
