The Artificer PC class and the Warforged race appear in the Eberron Campaign Setting.
Helm is one of the Lord of Blades' more intellectual servants, being a step above the sword-wielding thugs that tyrant usually employs. He might be guarded by Hatchet (Warforged Ranger 4) and assisted in his covert work by Onebee and Twobee (Warforged Scout rogues).
Note that in order to use his wand, Helm must succeed in a DC 20 Use Magic Device check.

Artificer Knowledge: Helm can identify magic items (DC 15) with a +6 to his check.
Disable Trap: Helm can find and disable traps as a rogue.
Infusions (cast 4/3 per day): Helm can cast any infusions from the 1st or 2nd level artificer list.
Possessions: brooch of shielding (50 hp remaining), heavy crossbow, heavy shield, wand of scorching ray (15 charges), masterwork war hammer, scrolls of invisibility, lesser restoration, remove paralysis, see invisibility, locate object, knock, disguise self.
