The "Gold Blades" are highly-ranked mercenary soldiers in House Deneith, a feature of the Eberron Campaign Setting. As revealed in Sharn: City of Towers, House Deneith in that city has been corrupted by lovecraftian psychic spirits from the Realm of Dreams. As a result, the soldiers of the House are corrupt, obeying psychic spirits whom they believe to be acting as the voice of their House. These "Gold Blades" represent the most skilled rank-and-file soldiers of that cult. Their lower-ranked cousins, the "White Blades" are also listed on this wiki.

These soldiers are psychic warriors, and use the rules for that class from the Expanded Psionic Handbook. They make excellent bodyguards for any telepathic or psychic master, regardless of setting.


Deneith Soldiers (male human psychic warrior 3): CR 3; HD 3d8+3+6; hp 23; Init +1; Spd 20 ft (heavy armor); AC 21 (+1 Dex, +2 shield, +8 armor); BAB +2; Atk +6 melee (1d10+2/19-20 bastard sword), +4 ranged (1d8+2/x3 composite longbow); SA Psionics; AL LE; SV Fort +4, Ref +2, Will +3; Str 15, Dex 13, Con 12, Int 10, Wis 14, Cha 8.

Skills & Feats: Autohypnosis +10, Concentration +7 (+11 to become psionically focused), Search +6; Exotic Weapon Proficiency (bastard sword), Narrow Mind, Psionic Body, Psionic Weapon, Weapon Focus (bastard sword).

Powers Known: 1—biofeedback, defensive precognition, prevenom weapon (DC 13)

Power Points/Day: 6

Equipment: Masterwork bastard sword, masterwork full plate, masterwork heavy shield, masterwork composite longbow, potion of cure moderate wounds.

Tactics: Begin the battle with a psionic focus and biofeedback (DR 2/--). Round 1—prevenom weapon (DC 13 Fort save or take 2 points of Con damage) and flank. Round 2—Attack with Psionic Weapon (+2d6 damage, expends focus). Round 3—defensive precognition and flank. Round 4 and following—attack.
