Improved Grab (Ex): To use this ability, a dire bear must hit with a claw attack. It can then attempt to start a grapple as a free action without provoking an attack of opportunity.
Smite Good (Su): Once per day the creature can make a normal melee attack to deal extra damage equal to its HD total (maximum of +20) against a good foe.
Description/Combat: The Fiendish dire bear is an aggressive feral predator. It hunts and kills for the sheer joy of carnage. It will not hesitate to rip apart anything that might contain something edible. A typical fiendish dire bear is 12 feet long and weighs as much as 8,000 pounds. A fiendish dire bear attacks by tearing at opponents with its claws. It prefers to wade into combat as quickly as possible. It focuses it's attacks on what ever has caused it the most pain. They have been known to take helpless prey back to their den where they kill it slowly, over many hours, before devouring it.
