Mad scientists are often known for locking themselves in their labs, performing cruel experiments on animals and even human beings, such as creating new and deadlier strains of bacteria. They consider science to be the ultimate law. They must keep their experiments well hidden from the academic community and the law.

Some of them travel the world, looking for other scientists of similar ethical persuasions. While they can be diplomatic, they are often laughably ill-trained at surveillance techniques, which they learn from spy movies. They may actually draw suspicion as they follow other scientists around and peer into reflective surfaces, expecting to be followed.
