Caustic Blood (Ex) Anyone causing slashing or piercing damage to an acid pigeon causes its blood to spray in a 10 ft square. All those in the area must make a Ref DC 9 or take 1d4 acid damage. Additionally, if an acid pigeon is slain while in flight by piercing or slashing weapons, it rains down acid in a 10 ft radius. Creatures caught in this acid rain suffer as above for blood spray, however, for each 10 ft of altitude of the acid pigeon when slain (after the first 10 ft) reduce the DC by 1.

Caustic Droppings (Ex) An acid pigeon's droppings cause 1d4 acid damage. The acid pigeon must succeed on a ranged touch attack. Since the droppings can only fall, the attacking acid pigeon must be above its target. It is common to have an acid pigeon unknowingly bestow such as gift on unwary pedestrians.

Strategy and Tactics Acid pigeons flee from those who come too close (unless they have food at hand) and attack only in defense of their roosts—which are usually made along rooftops or ledges high up on buildings.

Ecology Acid pigeon eat normal pigeon food, but also consume pebbles, twigs, and bits of glass. These and other such acid pigeon food types do not seem to harm the acid pigeon.

Environment Any urban

Typical Physical Characteristics Acid pigeons are virtually indistinguishable from normal pigeons. It's their powerful acids that separate them from their cousins.

Alignment Always neutral.

Society Acid pigeons roost, flock, and even mate with normal pigeons. The offspring of a normal pigeon and an acid pigeon will be an acid pigeon 50% of the time.

Typical Treasure None
